Before the revision the shown watch was in a pitiable condition. The battery had run out and the battery acid has spread throughout the entire movement. Also on the board of the small transistor with its magnet was much pollution that could, however, relatively easy to remove. The clock works since the cleaning perfectly again and has remarkably constant and accurate timing results!
Here is the revision of a clock with the Junghans 600.11: Revision of a Junghans Ato -Chron in the jacket of a Matthey-Doret
The Sheffield and Matthey-Doret for me were desendent from the same forging and I suspect that Junghans here wanted to appeal to the English-speaking markets.
Electro-mechanical movements of Junghans can also be found in watches with "Wedgefield" or "Westfield" on dial.
As a collector you take of course also a "mistake". Since I primarily deal with Junghans watches and I am always looking for new and less known or even unknown Junghans caliber, there must be somewhat risky. Unfortunately sometimes a watch gets in the shopping cart, that shows that no Junghans caliber is used in this case...
Although this Sheffield is not driven by a Junghans movement, I nevertheless would like to show this beautiful here.
