Junghans J82/2; Junghans 682.71

small second

The first watches (200 pre-series models) with the Junghans J82 were sent to the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig (Germany) for chronometer testing in 1951.

The first series models appeared on the market from the beginning of 1953, these were still without a stop-seconds mechanism.

Chronometers with stop-seconds were delivered from the end of 1953. The watches had a Nivarox hairspring, a Glucydur balance and Junghans' own fine adjustment called sector gearing (according to Junghans: hairspring pointer with expandable adjustment range with fine adjustment screw).
