Junghans wristwatches have been fitted with a wide variety of shock protections over the decades - from the shock absorber for the sensitive pins of the balance, to the entire movements in the case.
Here is a patent that was applied for on 18 March 1965 and finally granted in 1972. The described rubber ring is both waterproof and shockproof.
On September 5, 1951, Junghans applied for a patent for the shock protection of the balance pivots in the USA and on September 10, 1951, Junghans applied for the patent in Germany. The patent is granted in the USA in 1955.
